Ex-footballer joins Himsworth Scott to develop our holistic sport offering to protect reputation and privacy
Himsworth Scott can today announce an innovative and exciting addition to our staff with the hire of footballer Fraser Franks. Fraser, a talented footballer who commenced his career at Chelsea before moving on to league clubs Brentford, AFC Wimbledon, Luton, Stevenage and Newport County, played nearly 300 games before his career was cruelly cut short in March at the age of 28 on medical advice owing to a heart problem.
Fraser is extremely well thought of in the game and joins the firm to focus on our growing holistic approach to protecting reputation and privacy within sport. Fraser will manage relationships with clubs, associations and individual athletes alike and will supplement our education, mentoring, research and information support.
Of his own career development, having started as a youngster at Chelsea, he recalled in a recent EFL Podcast that he received, at Cobham, a “great education on and off the pitch … [Chelsea] look to improve you as a person as well as a player”. It is this philosophy, in helping clubs and associations to create a culture which protects reputation and privacy and allows athletes to develop their talent with less risk, that Fraser will work with us to develop still further.
Of his new role, Fraser says: “The premature end to my playing career was devastating. To have a project that is so innovative and allows me to utilise my own experience in the game, alongside the firm’s unique expertise in reducing reputational risk in sport through education, knowledge and strategic advice, is something I was immediately excited by”.
“Before joining the firm I spoke with people that I know and trust within the game and every single one of them confirmed my instinct; that Himsworth Scott are both excellent advisers and good quality people. I can’t wait to get started.”
Himsworth Scott founder Matt Himsworth commented: “We are constantly looking at how we can do things differently and how we can do things better. The growth of our sports practice means we are at training grounds across sports throughout the country reducing risks, and giving clubs, associations and commercial partners ever better data on reputation, privacy and conduct to influence recruitment and sponsorship decisions. Adding Fraser’s experience gives us fresh insights and more reach for our work. Fraser was recommended to us by respected individuals in sport, and we are delighted to have him with us and support the next phase of his career”.
Fraser can be contacted via the switchboard or by email on email@example.com.
